Saguaro Will II Features I Like and How I Tested Them

These winter boots are aesthetic, foot-friendly, and affordable. That’s quite a rare combination to come across, so I consider myself lucky to discover this pair. I ordered the brown style since it felt so nice and cozy to me, but you can choose the right fit from other neutrals, effective for any male or female wardrobe:

  • Black;
  • Dark Blue;
  • Dark Grey;
  • Pink.

Here is a breakdown of things that I love about these winter boots. Check the table below.

FeatureWhy I Like ItHow I Tested It
Upper Material (Oxford Cloth + Microfiber Suede)This silhouette feels soft but durable, doesn’t crease easilyI wore them for my daily walks and light hikes — no signs of wear after weeks.
Lining (Faux Rabbit Fur)It’s super warm, no cold toes even in chilly weather.I walked in 20°F (-6°C) weather with thin socks, and my feet stayed cozy.
Closure (Lace-up)They offer a snug fit but remain easy to loosen when needed.I can tie them once when I put them on and feel comfortable without any further adjustments — I can secure their positioning without difficulty,
Cleaning (Machine Washable)I am a bit lazy when I deal with my shoes, so effortless maintenance is what I’m looking for — no special care is needed with Saguaro Wish II.I tossed them in the wash on a cold cycle, and they came out looking fresh.
Removable Insole (4mm)I like this feature as it is easy to swap out branded options for custom insoles.I tried them with and without the insole — good both ways, so whatever works for your needs the most.
Weight (256g)Without a doubt, it is surprisingly light for a winter boot.Unlike anything else I’ve tried in the winter footwear category, these don’t make me feel tired even after wearing them all day. I’ve never felt them chunky or heavy.
Shaft Height (10.2cm)It offers enough coverage to keep my ankles warm.I walked through snow up to my ankles. The design keeps snow and debris away.

There are some other features I would like to emphasize. Keep reading my Saguaro Wish II review!

Sizing & Fit

The range of available sizes is from 36 EU to 43 EU. I ordered my standard size and secured the fit with laces — just the right length to get better control of how the shaft hugs your leg. For a little extra room, a size-up might be a good idea, though.

The model features a wide-toe box, too, but I think these boots might not work for extra-wide feet or other unique requests. On the brighter side, I haven’t had a single blister or any other similar problem with them. They don’t come with a challenging break-in period in the kit: you can wear them with the utmost confidence right out of the box.

The way these shoes molded to my feet was also satisfying. They do feel like slippers at times, I must admit.

Waterproof & Windproof

Weather conditions in the winter can be quite fluctuating, depending on your location. These are best for snowy regions — puddle-jumping isn’t quite recommended when you put these on. I didn’t use any additional waterproofing means, and my feet stayed dry and warm during my outdoor activities. Nonetheless, Saguaro Wish II is splash-resistant only.

Lightweight and Flexible

Have you ever tried rolling up your traditional boots? Given how sturdy such pairs are in most cases, cramped toes and similar concerns leading to long-term health-related issues might be what awaits you around the corner. From this perspective, Saguaro Wish II is a wonderful contribution to your wardrobe’s functionality.

Even though you might not be accustomed to walking barefoot, these winter boots will protect your feet enough with better circulation and air ventilation in mind. I don’t get tired after a long day on foot when I put these on. As I’ve already mentioned, they weigh just 256 grams, which is basically nothing in comparison with cumbersome alternatives on the market.

Warm and Cozy

The faux rabbit fur lining does wonders, making this pair of shoes versatile and adjustable to different weather conditions in the winter. I tried wearing them out at -15°C and -5°C — no issues detected.

Tested ConditionHow They Performed
-15°C (5°F), Thin SocksFeet stayed warm but needed movement to maintain heat. Would recommend thicker socks.
-5°C (23°F), Regular SocksPerfectly cozy, no chill at all. Felt like wearing insulated slippers outside.
IndoorsThey are breathable and can offer a good temperature balance, but spending hours in a warm space can be a challenge. Please be careful to avoid sweaty feet, overheating, etc.
Windy ConditionsFaux rabbit fur blocked the cold air surprisingly well. No icy drafts.
Light SnowFeet stayed warm and dry, no cold seeped in through the material.

Grip and Traction

The outsole thickness is 5 millimeters. There are more barefoot options, so to speak, but this level offers just enough cushion without losing a nice ground feel. I tested Saguaro Wish II on multiple terrains and was happy about its efficiency:

  • no falling hazards, especially on rocky trails;
  • no discomfort, regardless of what is beneath my feet;
  • zero-drop efficiency for improved posture and balance.

Wrapping It Up

Would I buy them again? Absolutely! However, I don’t think I might need to repurchase them anytime soon — after two winter seasons, Saguaro Wish II is still nailing it. At the end of the day, for those looking for warm and cozy ways to keep their feet protected in the winter, these boots are worth the hype.

I have included the Saguaro Will II in categories such as Best Affordable Barefoot Shoes, Best Barefoot Winter Boots, and Best Wide Toe Box Boots. With us, you’ll also learn more about equally great alternatives from other barefoot manufacturers.
