2. Saguaro Luck I

Use code BBRANDS10

Pros:

  • Natural rubber soles for increased slip resistance
  • Simple maintenance instructions
  • Barefoot shoes for casual wear
  • Lightweight and breathable

Cons:

  • Not the most flexible barefoot shoes out there

Here is another example of casual barefoot shoes from the brand — Saguaro Luck I. Available in beige, black, rose red, and other colors, the white design drew my attention. What can be better than a universal pair of white barefoot sneakers for everyday wear? They aren’t as flexible as Saguaro Wish III, but they are machine-wash-friendly and feature a removable insole of 4 mm — a greater ground feel, in turn.

Best Budget Barefoot Shoes with Wide Toe

3. Xero Shoes Kelso

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Flexible
  • True-to-size
  • Foot-shaped toe box
  • High-quality materials at a cheap cost

Cons:

  • You have to strictly follow the brand’s maintenance recommendations so as not to ruin the shoe

Xero has taken court-style barefoot shoes to a new level, hence its Kelso model. I love this pair of its moisture-wicking mesh lining — it keeps my feet cool and dry, no matter how many miles I walk during the day. With a 6-mm sole, the ground feel isn’t perfect, but it is a nice option for beginners in the minimalist footwear universe.

4. Saguaro Wish II

Saguaro Wish II — Affordable Barefoot Shoes

Pros:

  • Breathable
  • Zero-drop and wide-toe-box
  • Flexible and eco-friendly

Cons:

  • A lot of sizes are out of stock
  • A sole of 5 mm doesn’t offer the best ground feel possible

I was ready to tolerate minor issues by saving my budget on purchasing a pair of casual barefoot shoes for summer and spring. With Saguaro Wish III, I was pleasantly surprised with the model’s quality — breathable and flexible. These do feel nice and don’t restrict my movements. I wouldn’t mind more slip resistance, but we have what we have.

Unfortunately, Saguaro Wish II is no longer available for sale. But the model has been developed and version III is already available. We are sure that it is as worthy of attention as the one we reviewed.

  • Fit true to size
  • Wide toe box

Cons:

  • The shoe strings’ length may feel too much at times

This foot-friendly design offers memorable sneaker-like aesthetics without compromising your foot health and comfort. I didn’t resist the temptation to take advantage of these best affordable shoes and bought two pairs in different colors — they are as good as new even after several months of activewear.

Cons:

  • Possible issues with choosing the right fit because of the unisex design

On the one hand, this unisex design is an excellent idea for couples — why not support your foot health together and get a gorgeous look at the same time? On the other hand, it’s crucial to understand how the Splay 101 Blazer fits: these may run a little small, so a larger size is usually not a bad idea. These best affordable barefoot shoes feature vintage-design elements, which turn them into an undeniably good choice to contribute to anyone’s wardrobe.

  • Stylish and comfortable
  • Lightweight and airy
  • Zero-drop
  • Wide-toe-box

Cons:

  • They don’t feel the most comfortable right out of the box, but you will surely get there

WHITIN Men’s Zero Drop Running Shoes are elegant and classic, combining the mesh upper and the rubber sole for extra breathability and maneuverability without slipping hazards. The lace-up closure type is pretty comfortable to use. The sole is well-made and offers enhanced all-weather traction. Its wide toe box is also good, and I feel comfy without my toes getting into weird positions to fit in the shoe.

  • Roomy, allowing for a natural toe splay, and a thick pair of socks for added thermoregulation
  • Laces are easy to adjust and hold tight in the assigned position throughout the day

Cons:

These Oxford shoes didn’t scream barefoot to me, but my first impression was a bit off. It features a lightweight arch support. Pros:

  • Aluminum toes for extra security
  • A premium water-resistant leather upper
  • True-to-size
  • Wide-toe-box

Cons:

  • They aren’t as lightweight as I thought them to be

Compared to traditional designs from KEEN, it’s on a wider side — a natural toe splay as a bonus. This design belongs to work boots and features aluminum alloy toes, removable insoles, and moisture-wicking lining for more versatile and effective use. Its rubber sole is pretty slip-resistant and protects you from any electrical hazards

  • Water-resistant

Cons:

  • They typically fit true to your size, but minor issues may take place

Available in several designs, these shoes are great for training and other athletic activities both indoors and outdoors — I like how easy they are to clean. At this price, they are odor-resistant, lightweight, and soft. The most special feature is the model’s bottom drainage hole — they are highly ranked among other water shoes on Amazon for a good reason.

Pros:

  • Waterproof and breathable
  • 5,000-mile sole warranty
  • Gusseted tongue for a comfortable and secure fit
  • Lightweight

Cons:

  • Its rubber sole may not work for some climates (for too cold regions, for instance) as it will feel stiff

This list of the best affordable barefoot shoes would be incomplete without Xero Shoes Mesa Trail WP. I like how it combines its waterproof lining and a secure tongue-and-lacing system for a stunning fit. These trail shoes will keep debris away — I’ve had fun testing them when conquering several terrains during my trekking and hiking adventures.

  • A sophisticated look at a budget-friendly cost
  • High-quality full-grain leather

The model’s form-fitting leather is another feature I like about these shoes as it allows for slipper-like coziness.

Designed with a wide toe box, V OPXIN Winter Snow Boots are good for your foot health. Zero-drop, lightweight, and flexible, they keep your feet comfy and dry throughout the winter. My hands-on experience with them has been pleasant, so I am happy to include the model in the list of the best affordable barefoot shoes for men and women. Cons:

  • A bit more flexibility wouldn’t be extra

If you want to easily slip on in your shoes and be up in arms for the day, Arromic Wide Toe Box Ballet Flats are a nice alternative for sneakers and heels for women. These are certainly lightweight and allow for a wide range of movements without discomfort and pain. The sole material is rubber, so it adds to the design’s slip resistance.

Pros:

  • Highly flexible sole
  • Enough space in the forefront for a natural toe splay
  • A modern design
  • Non-slip comfort

Cons:

  • White soles are stylish but get dirty with ease and super quickly

I didn’t have high expectations for HOBIBEAR loafers, especially given their affordability. In turn, these minimalist shoes happened to be really comfortable. Its functional profile was the best bargain — enough room for my toes, decent materials, and an overall good-looking design for men.

16. Saguaro Wll II

Pros:

  • Lightweight (256 grams per shoe)
  • Warm — up to -15°C without any signs of discomfort
  • Non-restrictive and wide-toe-box design

Cons:

  • Not suitable for submersion — splash-resistant only

Here is another marvelous choice of winter shoes at an affordable price — less than $60 per pair. I like how harmoniously its barefoot functional profile works with its pleasing aesthetics. Although they are available in several colors, I chose brown for a more comfy feel from these boots. Overall, that’s a great solution for winter.

How We Picked and Tested

We tested the shoes in this selection for 3-12 months. The shoes were used for various purposes, from daily walks to intensive sports and hiking. First of all, we paid attention to comfort, flexibility, and slip resistance. We also did not forget about such important criteria as wear resistance, quality of materials, and toe width.

Of course, the main criterion for this article is the low price, but it was not the determining factor. We tested many pairs of shoes under $20 purchased on Amazon, and none of these pairs were included in the selection. Most often, such shoes either did not correspond to the traditions of barefoot shoes or their quality was not satisfactory. Therefore, we gave preference to proven brands and models that have been on the market for more than 5 years. They have won the love of their fans, including ours.

The Saguaro Vitality III took first place in our rating. This is the best barefoot shoe for sports that we have seen. They are almost not felt on the foot, however, your toes are well protected due to the curved sole. They have excellent grip on the surface. This is a hyper-flexible model that can be easily rolled into a tube with one hand and which provides the most natural movement of your foot.

Saguaro Luck Ⅰ is the best budget solution for city walks. This is a very simple but very comfortable and practical pair of shoes. Due to the wide toe and good breathability, you will feel like you are wearing house slippers on the street.

A well-deserved third place goes to the Xero Shoes Kelso. These are court shoes for playing on the field in the best traditions of barefoot shoes, which are also great for city walks. Their main advantage is the wide-toe box. Perhaps even too wide. These shoes also showed quite good results during our tests for slip resistance.
